Extra points if you have curlers in your hair, or can carry a full cup of coffee without spilling. More extra points if you have neighbors watching (and, of course, not helping!) Triple points if you can top my fave moment of chasing them through the church parking lot right before the early morning service!
OH, you made my morning - competetive jammie horse chasing I get lots of points this AM!

I'm a caffeine-a-holic...I RARELY put the coffee cup down anywhere! I'm always amazed to see what I can do while firmly clutching said cup in my hand, lol! I have, however, found my coffee cups in rather odd places from time to time...on top of the haystack, in a grain manger, and once even in a grain garbage can (lid tightly on, of course!) Pisses me off 'cuz it's always cold by the time I find it. I am so happy to hear there are others caffeine crazies out there. It is very upsetting to find a cold cup of coffee (all that good caffeine gone to waste) such a sad thing.

He was none too pleased, but it was one helluva electric storm, and he's in a round pen with metal fencing. I didn't want to chance it. He was dancing at the stall door this morning and got off a ton of bucks and airs above the ground when I let him back out. Silly gelding! I'm curious, though, about how to prevent lightening strikes in the pasture. Do people have ideas? Is there a book I can read?
None that I know of. It is always a balancing act for us - when there are threats of tornados - like last night - I hesitate to put them in their stalls because of the proximity of flying metal/debris and no way out. I feel they are better in the open where they can and do seek the lowest ground, and can run from the danger. When it's just a lightning storm - in the barn they go, but even that's no guarantee. I do spend a LOT of time in serious prayer during weather like that.

One of my horses let himslef out the gate one night..at like 3:00 in the morning. I had 2 of my horses pastured about 2 blocks down from me. The third one I still had at home woke me up whinnying and going crazy. That was so unlike her, so I got out of bed in my T-shirt and bare feet (it was summer) to wander out to her field on my property to see what was wrong. She seemed fine, but I just had a bad feeling, so I kept walking over to the field I had the others in. Radar had let himself out of the pasture gate, walked down the lane, and opened the neighbours gate and let himself into his organic vegetable farm. My other horse was standing at the open gate in his field calling for his buddy Radar...like he just knew he'd be in deep trouble if he left So I snuck in (still barefooted and no halter, rope anything) and desperately tried to herd Radar back out before the owner woke up and discovered us in there. (He'd made it very clear before that he was concerned my horses might one day somehow get in) I managed to get Radar out fairly quickly, but not before I went for an accidental swim in the new pond the neighbour had dug Locked everyone back up and spent the rest of the night waiting for dawn so I could see the damage done. Luckily it was relatively minor in the end, no missing carrots or the like But after that my other two horses were the 'good' kids for letting me know what bad little Radar was up to.

Ride like there's no tomorrow, train like you have forever.
