I invited him to our Fourth of July party when we were in the UK and he got so excited that he learned all about our holiday. He went to Thanksgiving dinner at our UK uni, too. He will take the time to talk to everyone about his religion. He knows that I am a Christian and he and I have a lot of good conversations about faith and that sort of thing. I have a Palestinian friend here in the US who is similar. Both are just great guys. I had to educate Kamran on the WBC people, too, elf. He was disturbed. They used to run godhatesretards.com and he was like, "Why would you hate disabled people and call yourself a Christian?"

Sure, I may be a bitch, you never have to worry about receiving outrageously patronizing and hypocritical PMs from me about how to better your Internet persona.

I've met many Muslims (mostly Saudis). I have not met any Palestinians. I have interviewed the man in this thread before regarding computer stuff and he was very bullish over the phone. So knowing he was rather unpleasant last time and the fact that I'm a Jew, I figured it was a recipe for disaster. It wasn't against Palestinians in general, it was that he was not the nicest the last time we talked AND he is a Palestinian.
This was not an assigned article, but a chosen article; I could have easily said "Eh, I don't want to deal with it."
And I relished the conversation we had about Israel. It was a real eye-opener for me. He said he has had many friends decline to fight and be imprisoned by Palestinian forces. He also had his family's land taken from the Israeli government. He has real reason to hate Jews. But he doesn't. He just hates the government and wants reform.
It was silly to balk. I was just admitting that there was that moment of hesitation in my own self.

I never quite understood the big rift between Christians and Muslims. They're both Abrahamic religions, and really when you get down to it quite similar. I can see two total opposite religions going after each other, but I never got how people who have such similar beliefs can dislike each other so much.
That's neat that you got to interview him, either way.
