Unless you're drinking straight, strong, black tea, I think tea still results in a net gain of water in the system. I don't know about Crystal Light, but tea will certainly hydrate you especially if you drink it weak-medium strength and/or drink lots of green or oolong teas. I start the morning with ginseng and ginger oolong, then a black peach tea and either jasmine or gunpowder tea in the afternoon. I also frequently double steep, i.e., re-use my tea leaves. This is because I'm a raging tea junky, though, and think water is for suckers. I may be inclined to enable tea drinking.

I drink enough water daily (atleast 2 liters of plain water) but anymore than that and I sort of want to "treat" myself to something more flavorful. I don't like drinking sodas regularly, so I find keeping a water-type beverage handy is better, and its also healthier but still yummier than plain water.Only drawback to tea however, is I do like to add sugar in my tea (southern tea is like syrup LOL) I don't add as much as everyone else does though!! Hmm

Hmm One of my dearest friends loves "Sweet Tea" which I had never heard of before (she's from Florida); I asked her what the difference was between Iced Tea (which we make here with sugar or honey) and Sweet Tea. Her answer? "Uhh, sweetness." You haven't had sweet until you've had sweet tea. Just about killed me! Hah. My favorite iced tea recipe:2 bags earl grey2 bags peppermint tea1 lemon (1/2 sliced, the other for juice)Honey to tasteFresh peppermint or lemon balm, bruised and choppedSteep peppermint and earl grey teas for 10 minutes, add sliced lemon and juice from other half. Add honey and peppermint. Allow to chill for an hour or two before adding ice (to keep it from getting to watery)

You can add even less so it won't be as sour, but won't taste like plain water.I also drink a lot of tea: peppermint, roobios, and a couple others.
