Last week (while I was out of town for Easter), Kota went down again. The BO was there and couldn't get him up. She said he looked really bad - basically he looked like did when we found him the previous time. She made the call and had him euth'ed. He was buried in the front pasture next to his dear old friend who died last summer (also of old age related issues). Kota was one of a kind - won lots of ribbons and awards and had personality plus. He was a dear old boy. My daughter, who is 5, had recently decided he was hers. She was the last one to ride him and, upon arriving at the barn yesterday, insisted
that we put boughs of apple blossoms on his grave and tell him goodbye.

Rest in greener pastures, Kota. You will be missed!!
Pics-
Munching his hay this winter.

Sunbathing in the fall. His favorite pastime on sunny days.

His last ride with my 5 year old (she weighs 28 pounds). And yes, no helmet. He couldn't do more than walk and was being lead by his owner the whole time.
