So most of you have seen the recent lesson videos of Sonnet and I ( if not I will link them at the bottom of the post for you ) and there has clearly been improvement and yep clear issues still needed to be worked on ( as in my hands and shoulders gawd will it ever end !?!?!?!)
You also know my show season has been cut back drastically due to financial constraints (boo this weekend was the first 3 day gold show I was meant to go on oh well ) so I have not to many shows left in this season, 2 maybe 3 if I am lucky.
The next show is July 4th just down the road from where I board. I was planning on doing training level 3 and 4 again but now I am thinking I am tempted to do First Level test 1 as well. But I worry that I am either A. not nearly ready and question my ability and B. I am pushing it Sonnet wise.
She is going FANTASTIC !! last lesson we did walk to canter transitions and she was great ( more importantly my ass stayed firmly in my seat and no chucking of my upper body ) she did not get paniced or anxious it was really nice. I am doing more no stirrup work to help with the seat issues and Cheryl is planning some devious device to work on my shoulder issues lol lol. The mare is really working well I am figuring things out. I have read through the test and I personally think yep I can probably do it as can Sonnet , not going to win or anything but could put in a semi solid ride in level 1 test 1.
I have not spoken with Cheryl about it as yet but I can say she had mentioned it at the beginning of the season as something to make as a goal to do sometime this season if both sonnet and I are going well and improve which I am guessing we have
So what do you think go for it? Whats the harm ? or No NO NO !
( p.s video camera will be returning from Italy with the BO next week so will have another videoed lesson soon for you all )
