So just a quick update about Sonnet and our training and more importantly I just got back from the doctors office and Xray place.
Ok first ! Sonnet is FANTASTIC!!!!! She is basically unreal to be honest! We had a lesson today and Cheryl was so very impressed. She is consitantly soft reaching and working from behind. we have trot 10 meter circles down perfectly both directions. Canter 15 meters are really really good to the left and a little stiff to the right . So we are working on that with various excersises. The other thing which is getting better and better and really amazes me is her transitions ! They are so nice and smooth now and regular which is such a difference !
I have found a show we can afford !!!! I will be showing on June 12th and at this show we will just do Training 3 and 4 and then the show on July 4th we will be doing level 1 test 1 which I am very pleased about !!!
Now for me :-( So I have not mentioned some issues I have been having, and they are issues very much linked to my posture , seat and hands. Basically I have incredibly painful shoulders and my thumbs go numb.Nothing else goes numb just my thumbs. It happens when I ride and it happens when I am in Spin Class. It almost never happens when I am in weight lifting class. I had ignored it for the last few months chalking it up to muscles tiredness and soreness but it progressively has gotten worse and worse. To the point where I am having to stop midway through a lesson to recover. Yeah it is that bad guys. So I booked a appt with the doc. My fear was it was carpule tunnel .
So my doc ( who I have known my whole life and is fantastic and has been through my entire weightlose journey with me ) has decided it is not cts ( YAAA!! ) but something not good ( BOOOO ) he made me push my shoulders together and flex my back/shoulder muscles. When you do that it should go hard the muscles should get tense and you feel it when you touch it and when someone else touches it ...mine ...yeah completely soft even flexed , like no muscle tension at all in the entire shoulder area between the shoulders. He said obviously they are meant to be hard and with me for sure with the amount of riding and working out that I do . He also said there is inflamation in my shoulders themselves due to the strain of it all. So he has given me anti-imflamitories for now and I just got back from the full meal deal of xrays including a c-spine. I mean she took soooo many I counted 15 I think.
So yeah he said of course holding my shoulders up and back is damn near impossible for me and frankly will become very painful which in turn makes my neck bad, arms and hands.
So I have to wait until thursday for results and then go into see him to see what we can do if anything
The big thing is at least I know there is indeed something wrong and that it is not just my shit riding ! ha ha
I asked him if I can keep riding he said yes but if it hurts to stop do some backwards arm shoulder rotations . He also gave me some physo things to try at home as well. He said take it easy on the weights at the gym until we know what we are dealing with
