**UPDATE** We are calling her bred till I preg check her and figgure out otherwise. She is a Black Sabino, with a bald face, and full light roaning on whole body, now that she shed out maybe smokey black?? Sire of said maybe foal is a Palomino Appy, with a few snowflakes.
What color will the gas bubble be?? lol
I think one of my rescue/rehabb whatever you want to call it, mares might be prego. 10-12 yr Black Sabino TWH mare, leggy, lanky about 15:3hh
I have been trying to find out her history but within the last year she was dumped at the cattle sale from what I am piecing together, Bred, starved, or starved then bred, or bred while skinny... somethig along those lines. Sold as in foal last fall while starved. I got her while she was still skinny because the people that got her, only bought her because she was bred to a palomino, and they said she turned out not prego, thus did not want her. I thought they had her checked, but????
She was still very very skinny when I got her about a 2 on the scale, plus had pneumonia, and was almost bald. Vet visits, stall rest, antibiotics, she is better, healthy, and in good weight now. I am now wondering if she may be still prego. She was so sick, and skinny before we thought even if she had been bred, there was no way she would have stayed in foal.
, She is getting full in the flank, this week her teats have extended. Her bag is flat, but eric milked clear stuff out of them tonight because they were full. She had no bag, and her teats were sucked up and flat before.
My other question is how much does a horses stomach move when digesting? Something was going on. Her flank would suck way in on one side, then fling out, roll, ect, and was hard to the touch when it pused out. I swear it was a baby kicking, or I am loosing my mind. Like kicking, but more from a bigger object like hip, or hock, than hoof? When this was happending she also started to madly swish her tail, and kick at herself. (we watched her for a ling time she was not colicing)
She has not come into heat since I have had her (Janurary) but we thought that was from her being skinny, and sick, plus most of my mares did not even cycle this winter. They just started in about a month ago.
Yea I know I am pretty much answering my own questions, but thought I would ask opinions. Yes, I am going to have the vet preg check her on his next visit out. Comments?
