And for the most part, I really liked it! The animals seemed well-taken care of and happy. Most of them had adequate enclosures. I did feel bad for the 2 foxes and the raccoon, who were each in a standard 6x8 dog kennel, but they didn't seem too stressed. My issue was the bear. You can see his pictures at the bottom. He was also in a small (my guess is 10x16 ish) chain-link enclosure with a dog house, a bucket for water, and a ball. Concrete floor. He was 1/2 grizzly, 1/2 black bear. He was constantly weaving, just like some horses do in a stall, which to me says that he's stressed and isn't getting the stimulation he needs. When I asked if he stayed in there all the time or got to go in a bigger enclosure, the man told me he lives there and assured me "he was born in captivity"... like the fact that he's used to it makes it better. I can't get this poor bear off my mind! This is in North Carolina, is there anything I can do? I'm not having much luck searching for bear keeping laws on the net.
Anyway.. here are some pics!
