I have a friend named Jaco, which is not an uncommon name here, but he has a twin brother named Taco..... First time he introduced his brother to me I laughed, thinking he was joking, oops...And another friend of mine is called Nieck (neek) by accident, his name should have been Nick. He was born in Dubai where his parents were living at that time, but his nationality is Dutch. So his name had to be registered in Holland, and if you've ever heard an arab pronounce a name like nick, you know how he got the name nieck. They can't pronounce an i like in Nick, they turn it into an 'ee' sound....
Oh, and some friends of my parents who moved from Holland to the UK also have funny names, at least for English speaking people, here both their names are very common. They are named Dick and Willy de Cock.

AppyButt wrote:^ That's why I like my name. It's an actual name, and not a ridiculous one, just not in America. I think I'd still hate my name if it was a "normal" name but spelled all fucked up. Or if I was named a word that is better suited for a pet dog than a child.
