I don't know her well, I've met her a couple of times, but know a horse she used to ride for someone and stopped because of the doctor's advice)Sorry, this really irritates me. If you hit your head period you can die, it is always possible. Yes, I have heard that the more concussions/head trauma you have the more likely a more serious issue may arise. However, to stop riding because of that? Hell you could trip and hit your head and that could be the last straw. I understand about minimizing risk and taking precautions (ie wearing a helmet, not riding greenies, etc.) but to totally stop riding, I am honestly amazed. You couldn't pay me enough to not ride. Also, IMO, many people say they have a concussion after a hit to the head, but are actually fine. I have had doctors tell me that mild dizziness and a headache are common when you hit your head and as a general rule of thumb unless it is prolonged or excessive or accompanied by other symptoms (ie vomiting, slurred speech) then it will resolve on its own. Is it always good to get checked out? Of course. Do I (or most people) go to the doctor every time they hit their head? Probably not.I have had two very serious concussions, one that left me with migraines until I was 15 (head to a concrete wall, was not taken to doctor until 6 months after, MRI and CT scan showed old head trauma, nothing they could do, migraines eventually went away) and another where I was unconscious and seizing, then had severe amnesia and vomiting after waking (Went to hospital, got stitched up and sent home with instructions for my mom to wake me up every 1-2 hours no CT scan that I can remember). I have had a couple other mild concussions, some I have gone to the doctor for, others I did not. Besides that first time I have never had a doctor perform a MRI or CT scan because of mild dizziness, tiredness, and a headache. So if Cali just has mild symptoms I can totally understand her not rushing off to the doctor. Now if she was puking her life away while thinking it is September 2nd, I'm sure that her employers would get her to the ER.I have no opinion on the kick to the stomach. I had my back stepped on when I got trampled by a 4 year old and I didn't go to the doctor.. but I trusted my own judgement, if anything felt NQR (such as breathing) I would have gone right away.Sorry for the wall of text, over reaction to injuries bothers me sometimes, particularly when people are commenting on something when they are not there and just basing their advise off of nearly non existent descriptions.

When I ride my horse I get to forget I have a brain injury I was the daughter who wouldn't lift a finger in the house but cycled madly off in the pouring rain to spend all morning mucking out a stable.

Males are constant. The desire to ejaculate into a warm moist orifice anytime, anywhere, precludes everything, most notably common sense.

The only thing we pay for without insurance is physical therapy, massage therapy, the dentist, and prescriptions. And even prescriptions are mostly covered by the government if you are a senior or low income. The rest is covered if you have private insurance, or if you have insurance through work (which I don't)
