As many of you know, I'm riding an "ancient" Heiser High Back saddle. I bought it from the owners of the Arabian barn I used to work for, many years ago. Now I have to shop for a new western saddle for my ever-widening mare, and I got to thinking... I was told it was probably made in the 30's or 40's. BUT...

Wow. One third of me is tempted to carry on as before, one third wants to wrap it in cotton wool, and the last third is screaming "find out what it's really worth and SELL"! LOL. I was going to have it refleeced and restrung, but now I don't know if I should.
And I know threads are worthless without pics, but I don't have any of the actual saddle (but you can bet I'm hauling it out of the tack room and taking photos tomorrow!). Here are the "best" ones I can come up with right now:
