An eye for an eye way of life may make the world go blind. Maybe then we would learn to start listening.

If I`ve had more than one drink, I don`t drive until it`s out of my system (actually it`s illegal for me to drive with any alcohol in my system anyway because I haven`t taken the test to get off my GDL). Impaired people are not capable of judging whether they`re impaired or not.A friend of mine was recently killed by a drunk driver, and another friend was badly injured in the same accident. Some drunk got kicked out the bar, hopped into his vehicle and proceeded to plow through a crowd of people in the parking lot. He`s being charged with first degree murder, and I hope he gets the maximum sentence, because he deserves it.

Very graphic, and it made me tear up. Still I think people should see this, even if the people driving drunk still think that THEY are the exception and are excellent drivers even when drunk, other people will see this and perhaps stop someone from getting behind the wheel after drinking.I've lost friends and a family member because of drunk driving. I live in a pretty rural area, and drunk driving is a huge problem here.
I've lost an uncle when he was hit by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle home after work, a hit and run. The driver was caught by the way and was sent to jail. Two years ago I lost a friend when he and a group of other friends were driving home from his bachelor party. The person driving was drunk, they nearly hit a truck and went off the road. The guy who's bachelor party it was got thrown out through the back window, the car flipped and landed on top of him. The person driving, who is also a friend of mine also spent some time in jail, plus he has to live with the fact that he killed one of his best friends. That same year a friend of mine lost her boyfriend. They were at a party when they ran out of cigarettes and decided they would go get some at a highway gas station. That went fine, but when nearly home they too went off the road and hit a tree. My friend's boyfriend was in the back seat near the window which was open. Everyone but him got away with some minor bruises. He hit the tree with his head and my friend had to watch her boyfriend die while waiting for the ambulance. And last year a very dear friend of mine drove home drunk, he too went of the road in a turn, down a dike and hit a tree. He wasn't wearing a seat belt, went over his airbag and slammed into the window sill head first. He didn't die, but I honestly don't know if it hadn't been better if he did. Now a little over a year later all he can do is sit/lie in a wheelchair and drool. He's a plant.

When I ride my horse I get to forget I have a brain injury I was the daughter who wouldn't lift a finger in the house but cycled madly off in the pouring rain to spend all morning mucking out a stable.

So sorry for your friend's loss. I've always liked the song playing .... tough video to watch.
Some people survive their drunk driving crashes ....... http://www.youtube.com/wa...A_wQ&feature=related
It's French, but you don't need to understand a word of it to get the point.
