The horses have been relinquished by the owner to the officials. Ramona Bishop and others are care taking, feeding, doctoring etc at this point. We don't have a "rescue organization" for horses here in Harney County. But being in Ramona's c......are, we know that they are in the best of hands right now.
At this time, a call for help is being sounded to anyone who might be able to donate feed, cash, or foster horses. How the horses will be sold and/or adopted out is yet to be determined; it's just too soon to say on that part.
Right now they are just taking names and phone numbers of people who are volunteering to help in one form or another. They don't even know how to handle cash donations yet...but it will soon be sorted out, and they will gladly take any help that is offered.
Please contact Ramona Bishop at the BLM office on her direct line at 541-573-4439 or Patti Wilson at 541-573-4424.See More
