They have to pay for the building, the equipment, the materials, the employees, etc etc ad naseum. Plus, if the business tanks, the owner is significantly more screwed than the employee, therefore the risk deserves greater reward. But they employees don't ever see that. They just see the 'big man' ripping them off, not the enormous tax check that was written. What about just paying a living wage? So that even the person who cleans the toilets can afford to rent a place to live, drive a little car, have some kind of health cover, maybe have a little dream to go on holiday now and again? Oh and not forgetting buying groceries and being able to use the utilities.

Not to mention in many cases you are putting a childs parent or family member to death, what would the ramifications be on that that person dying? Braking contact *ex: social services remove the child for abuse* is one thing but death? Just my $0.02, but I'm from a country without the death penalty. There are definite times I wish we had it but this isn't one of those. Personally.

Do you know how strict the law regarding banks and banking policy and lending policy are? Especially after the last five years? Do you know much about banking law? Yes, a lot of big NATIONAL banks have fucked up, especially the GOVT BACKED ones, like Freddie Mac or Fannie May--but the small, well-managed banks, like the one my husband works for, are doing amazingly well, thanks to presidents and staff who THINK things through and don't lend to dipshits that want a $300,000 house but only make $50,000/yr. Do your fucking homework before you come up with or support an idea that would tear thousands of good, conservative banks apart.I think she is talking about the Bank of America and their ilk.

There are definite times I wish we had it but this isn't one of those. Personally.Uhhh I was being facetious, I kinda thought that was obvious. I have issues with the death penalty. There have been people on death row who were without a doubt guilty and to be put to death UNTIL forensics proved otherwise many years down the road. I mean you have video of this guy doing the crime with a full confession, forensic evidence and a few witnesses that's one thing. But otherwise it scares the hell out of me to think that some prosecutor looking to land the big one could get someone convicted who is innocent and that person wind up dead. I'm sure it's happened more times than anyone would like to know. In recent years several folks have been cleared and set free. So I guess I'm really anti death penalty myself. The theory of eliminating these people from society is "nice" but it doesn't work in reality. It's not a deterrent all it does is take that one person out of the equation. It also makes several other people murders by the very act that they kill someone themselves. I'm not a fan personally.

Do you mean basic care (food, shelter, clothing, medical) or do you expect lock stock and barrel including a college education? Cause if it's the latter, most of us can't support our kids. LOL
