I got this Arab gelding last July. His knee has steadily gotten worse. He has gained around 300 pounds and that seems to be putting more pressure on it.
I was told by the seller it was arthritis but I thought after they warmed up, it wouldn't hurt as much. His is the opposite. If we tried to ride him, he would start limping after a while.
I have let him sit all winter, having the vet come out for x-rays. This vet was his vet for the last 10 of 11 years. He said he didn't recall his knee being bad when I called and spoke with him.
It looks terrible, huge and lumpy.
Not asking for a diagnosis, just wondered if anyone else had experience with this. Vet is planned for within 2 weeks. Waiting for tax refund to be able to do 4 horses shots, teeth, x-rays and everything in one visit.
The left knee is the one that bothers him but the right one has lumps too.
