Did you ride him before?I did get to ride him, there are some things that are turning me off but I think they are mostly training. I am so used to my dependable oldies that getting on a green 10 year old again, I was like "jeeze walk down the rail on a loose rein, it's not hard" lol. But I have to remember he is green, so I am trying to get some other people oppinions on his build etc. Training I can fix, I can get him going "my way" no problem, so I am just trying to differentiate what is training and what is confo, lol.

I would guess he would need a lot of training just to get his personality to cool down and at ten it's pretty much set... but he could be different then what I see...
This is what I am seeing in him as well which is why I think he is going to be a very difficult retrain. I think the current person is in over their head with him and has resorted to grabbing his face and holding him in tight. Hard as it is on a forward horse with an active, scattered brain, you still have to let go of the face and ride them forward. You just have to be far more creative in the work you do with them to help keep the brain engaged so that he can settle into his work and relax into a rhythm. Anytime you take him out of his element, you will most like face a setback until you get enough miles on him to make new environments not as much of a big deal. I would expect the first 6 months - 1 year to be very challenging until you can form a good trust bond and get some decent training established. ~Shelly~

Maybe right? Maybe he could use an adjustment or something or maybe I'm seeing/looking for things.I saw this too and wasn't sure if I was seeing things or not, but I also thought he moved a little bit off in the right hind. . .

He was pretty well hyped up and seemed to be having a good time out there, but I thought it was odd that he never once came out of the trot. Under saddle at the canter, he seemed off in the hind a bit, so maybe that is why?
Dear High Road, As much as I enjoy the lack of traffic on you, there are days where the shortcut onto Bitchslap Road, You Want a Piece of THIS Circle and You Have the Maturity of a 10 Year Old Avenue ...seem.....well- rally really tempting.
