I wouldn't paint the cabinets. White cabinets always look nice, but it's hard to make colored cabinets look good usually. Just paint the kitchen walls. I think all kitchens should be green!
The house I rent was a disaster when I moved in. I did lots of painting to fix it up. It's totally worth it though.

She had color matched some other paint for the cabinets and still had the can but since it was a color match, there was no name so she just ripped a piece of the can wrapper (where paint had spilled) and gave it to me so I can get a color match. WOOO! Finally! I guess I'm going to go with blue.
