Sorry about this but I have another question. Same mare, due May 29, goes a week or two early, etc., etc. I know its not always possible, but I'm trying to judge how far off she is from foaling. The baby isn't mine and the owner wants to travel from her area to my area (8 hr drive) to see him/her. I don't want her to make a trip for nothing.
Anyway, over the last few days, I really thought Sugar was going to foal. She had a day of really hard tail swishing, looking back at her belly, pinning her ears. No baby. Milk has gone from colostrum to milk (like skim milk) today, A LOT of really hard kicks from foal, and now she is winking, like after she urinates, but with no urine. And she winks faster than if she had just peed. Has anyone ever seen winking like this as a sign of near foaling? I read on some other forum (google search result) that you should jog her for 10 minutes on a lunge line because the baby is on her bladder?
