For instance with appies there are the striped hooves, scerla and mottled skin that even absence the sterotypical coat spotting still allows them to be indentified as such.

And that's coming from something with an Ass that could qualify as a minimally marked spotted donkey.

True, although they still claim that they have just relaxed the rules, horses that are registered clydesdales, percherons, belgians etc are still not allowed, although I'm sure it is soon to follow.
