I accidentally left my quarter sheet out in the arena over the weekend. I gave it to a student who wasn't feeling well to keep her warm until her mom came back. I forgot it was out there and got busy doing other things, and had to leave right away to get somewhere. It was neatly folded on the end of a bench, not strewn in a pile or in the way somewhere. The barn manager/trainer came in a couple days later (I hadn't been back out to take care of it). I get to the barn to ride my horse that evening after she had left, and look high and low for my quarter sheet. It's missing. I have my suspicions. Next day, quarter sheet miraculously shows up on end of bench where it was. The comment was made: If you leave things out, don't expect to find them - comment was not made to me, to others at the barn who knew I was looking for my quarter sheet. I saw barn manager today - Happy go lucky, nothing wrong, says not a word to me.
I'm pretty livid at this whole situation - I feel like I'm in high school all over again. Nothing said to me, not even a note. My stuff gets hidden away from me when I need to use it. For the moment, I am just not seeking conversation with her. She can say something to me, I'll give an answer and walk away. I don't feel at the moment she is worth my time.
Opinions?
