So I bought miss Nova Lee a Cob sized bridle today. Thinking that since my full sized bridle was cranked up to the last hole and still falling off of her that
would be the next logical step right?
HA! That was way too smart. The cob sized bridle didn't come anywhere close to fitting. It was way too small. I considered punching holes but even the brow band was too tight.
Now what? They need to make a Hob size! Or a Chorse. For those in between equines. It is back to toodling around in a halter until I can figure this out.
Anyone have any ingenious ideas? Do different brands come in different lengths? I didn't consider that possibility since I always just went by 'horse' 'cob' 'pony' whatever label. I've never had a problem before. She's got such a feminine head that it's deceptively large. I guess I could butcher up a full size and chop one up and punch holes but that seems unecessary. I'm glad I didn't order a nice one yet!
Edited because I should've been more specific:
Thanks for the mix and match idea guys. Here's the problem. The cob size pieces are all too small. they're too short and just generally don't fit. Definitely uncomfortable for her. The horse bridle however was hanging on her even when I had it jacked up to the smallest holes. I would have figured that a horse bridle on the smallest holes and a cob bridle on the largest holes would be about the same size. Apparently there's a void there and that's where Nova fits. So I don't think I can go to a tack store and just buy pieces that are going to fit. Am I going to have to punch holes? If so, what's the best way to do this? Making long pieces shorter or short pieces longer?
