You guys are always knowledgeable! I figured I'd ask on here. I am looking to get my CDL. I have about a million questions and I'm only just learning about where to start. I got the manual for the state of Minnesota today and have been looking over it, I've also been trying some practice tests. Next weekend I am going up to a friend's farm where he is going to teach me to drive the tractor to find out if this is something I really want to do before I spend money on getting a permit and then a license. I guess my concerns right now are what do I need to get a permit? And then once I have my permit, what is the best way to go about getting my CDL. My friend said that he would help train me so that I don't have to spend money on going through a program. I know to get a CDL you just have to pass the tests. My other question is, let's say I get my permit here in Minnesota, can I get my license in North Dakota, or am I restricted to only getting my license in Minnesota? And do I need a different type of license if I am going to be crossing state lines? Really, any information regarding anything about CDLs would be REALLY helpful. Thanks in advance!
