My new rescue. To make a long story short (too late):
So I go to a parking lot where ice is supposedly being distributed by the National Guard and I see a black lab being dragged through a mall parking lot by a guy on his bike with a rope while some kick hitting the dog with a stick. I gunned my truck for him went for the pistol in my boot and yelled. They split and I opened the door yelled "Issac get in the truck". He got in the truck. The burns on his back are serious and likely from acid (wtf) but he is healing. He'll be healing and ready for adoption in a couple weeks.
What I know;
born in a shelter
starving when I found him
adopted to some shit head
microchipped but not listed as missing and numbers out of order
just under one year old
never been walked before
never been in a house before
not house trained (yet)
likes the crate and doesn't mess in it
vets say greyhound (or whippet) lab mix
pulls (great improvement)
car chaser (but improving)
He is already walking good on a leash. Going potty outside. He will sit on command. He has some recall but cannot be trusted. He is pulling less.
He LOVES children, cats and all other dogs. He is submissive and not food aggressive. He is heartworm negative.
I am looking for a greyhound (sight hound) type home with some experience because I feel a newcomer would get frustrated or he could escape. I have had him off a leash in the middle of nowhere with my pack and he did OK but he needs a lot of work on recall.
The moment he jumped in the truck:
Covered in these down his back but are well healed:
That was pre-vet. I am uploading the recent injuries pictures, he looks great if you know what your looking at. People who know a little something about mending dogs see that its greatly improved.
THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE BAG OF ICE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! $440.
