They had the animals picked up by veterinarians for boarding so that they could be Coggins tested prior to Jeff fetching them back to Utah for Lisa, and it is obvious from photographs Lisa has since shared on her Facebook page that the vets nor the Pedersens took any care with regards to Dolly’s diet

The truth about Jeff and Lisa Pedersen is not pretty, nor is it brief. But it is necessary, as Lisa has unabashedly backstabbed and spread lies about those who have fallen out of her favor for years. Like any bully, she thrives on the reluctance of the decent people she victimizes to return her bile in kind. But it is past time for her character to be known.
As recently as 2011, Lisa Pedersen had invited Sharon Lundquist into her home, on multiple occasions. Perhaps early on, the lopsided nature of the relationship should have been more obvious. While Sharon regularly made the 500 mile trip and spent up to a week at a time cooking for the Pedersen’s and helping with their ranch chores, Lisa never once made the slightest effort to visit in kind.
Those who know Lisa understand this is the nature of her character. She sits a lot, and manipulates her friends and family to do most of the moving. One wonders why she bothers to own horses in the first place, as she’s been too unfit to ride them for years.
But she does own horses. Many horses. And while she sits at home, she has her husband, Jeff Pedersen, at her beck and call to shuttle them around all over the country. Jeff hasn’t lived with his wife much over the course of their marriage, choosing to commute hundreds of miles to work rather than enjoy the company of the woman that has cowed him to be the agent of her petty machinations. Too weak to say no, too weak to leave, Jeff does her bidding and spends the rest of his time putting as much distance as possible between himself and his wife. Lisa doesn’t mind, as long as he does her dirty work and punches her meal ticket.
Unfortunately, Jeff isn’t the only one Lisa likes to exploit. Lisa enjoys owning horses, but the feed bills are such a pesky inconvenience. So, she routinely finds people to “give” her horses to, without ever putting the deal in writing, without ever completing the transaction at all, so that she can take back what she’s given whenever she sees fit.
These “deals” are never presented as leases – she’ll insist they are, after the fact, but what she does is dangle the carrot, insisting that she is trustworthy, because, as everyone knows, she’s married to the president of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry. Surely this buys her a measure of credibility! Surely this means she can be taken at her word! Surely this means a phone call and a handshake are enough to do business!
Nothing is further from the truth. The marriage to the president merely enables her to get away with the routine, chronic robbery of honest people, because there is no recourse for anyone who gets screwed making a deal with Lisa Pedersen for a Norwegian Fjord. Most people would expect to take ownership disputes to the registry – and in Lisa’s case, she owns the registry.
In 2010, on one of Sharon’s many trips to Cedar City, she agreed to purchase a mare, in foal, from Lisa Pedersen. It is important to note – under the bylaws of the NFHR at the time, and of nearly every reputable horse registry, when a mare is sold in-foal, the foal is the property of the new owner, unless otherwise specified in writing. No written contract was offered – the deal was cut-and-dried, Sharon purchased the mare in foal, and even received her registration papers, signed by both Jeff Lisa Pedersen. You will note the deliberate error with regards to Sharon’s last name – she chose to keep her maiden name, a fact that, for some reason, has perpetually offended the Pedersen’s; so much so that their attorney insisted on making the same mistake repeatedly in court proceedings against Sharon. Or, perhaps, the intent is more devious. You’ll also note the fine print under the bold “NOTICE” at the top of the certificate. Convenient, is it not, that Lisa Pedersen would deliberately create an inaccuracy on the registration certificate. It’s almost as if she intended to invoke her husband’s right to alter or cancel the certificate at any time. Because that is, in fact, what Jeff Pedersen did. Long after he was paid in full for the mare, he revoked his and his wife’s signature from the certificate, without Sharon’s knowledge, and without admitting it to anyone until he was forced to testify to the fact in court. This is how Jeff and Lisa Pedersen do business, and this is how the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry does business. It is dishonest, despicable, and the truth of it is long overdue. The sire that Fjreda was in foal to was not one that Sharon was particularly fond of – it was a poor match made out of a foolish and greedy desire to get one more foal from an aging but valuable stallion that the Pedersens did not even own (yet another deception continually employed by Lisa – one wonders how much in unpaid breeding fees she owes to the stud’s true owner).
Sharon had offered to exchange the foal in consideration for a breed-back to a more suitable stallion of her choosing. She was assured that the Pedersens intended to train the stud in question to breed a phantom so that semen could be shipped for artificial insemination. Lisa even went so far as to show Sharon the equipment for the process on one of her trips to Cedar City; Lisa is pictured below doing just that: Of course, this was another lie, one that Sharon probably should have expected. Lisa has never trained a horse in her life – she acquires them already trained, or has someone else do it for her, and her promise to train a stallion to breed via A.I. was as empty as every other guarantee she’s ever offered anyone.
Fjreda foaled, and no semen was shipped. In fact, no offer to breed-back was made at all, and the Pedersen’s set the next part of their plan in motion. They asked Sharon to take a hair sample of the foal for DNA testing, and asked her to ship it to the NFHR’s secretary for processing. Jeff has since admitted this irregularity in court – the follicle is meant to be shipped to the lab directly for testing. Why would they ask otherwise?
Simple. Because the follicle is meant to be attached to a card signed by the foal’s owner. A card that Jeff and Lisa Pedersen forged and sent to UC Davis without Sharon’s knowledge. A card that, conveniently, they could produce no copy of in court.
As the president of the NFHR, it was easy to register the foal in their own names from that point. It was the perfect crime – they had stolen the foal, destroyed the evidence, and nobody could appeal to anyone but the NFHR for relief.
As if this weren’t enough, early in 2011 Lisa gave Sharon another mare by the name of “Dolly” that had a history of medical problems and needed a good home. She was gentle and easy-going, ideal for Sharon’s six-year-old daughter. Sharon repeatedly told Lisa that she was concerned about her daughter becoming too attached to an animal that might have to leave, as, of course, Lisa had never fully transferred ownership of the horse. Below are several pictures of the e-mails in question as well as an interesting message from Dolly’s owner prior to the Pedersens: Of course, when Sharon insisted upon keeping the deal she had made for Fjreda (the purchase of a mare in foal), especially after the Pedersen’s refused the breed-back, refused to ship semen, and in fact threatened to geld the stallion Sharon wanted to breed to (they later admitted in court to having sold the stallion in question), Lisa insisted that Dolly be returned and that Fjreda’s foal really belonged to them.
It should also be noted that Sharon had a very good reason to request the A.I. on the foal-heat breedback to Fjreda. Her foal was born in May, a month premature, and a time of year when it is already very hot in Arizona, southern California, and Nevada. The foal was sickly, and the entire country was under an E.H.V. scare where responsible horse owners were strongly encouraged NOT to move their animals unnecessarily. As Lisa has perpetually refused to trailer any animals on her own and put her own (healthy) stallion at any risk or discomfort, and would not satisfy the breedback via the much safer alternative of A.I., the only option would have been to trailer the mare and newborn foal 500 miles (each way) in triple-digit temperatures to make such an arrangement possible – a notion that is inhumane, unsafe, and downright cruel.
Lisa knew this, of course. She knew the foal had chronic digestive issues, bad legs, and bad feet. Sharon had shared photos and videos of this with her on many occasions. But she also knew she had usurped control of the foal already and didn’t have to do a thing. She knew that Sharon would never put the mare and foal at risk to drive to her, even had she made any real offer. She knew that she’d never offered a bill of sale on Dolly, and that she’d even found a way to renege on the sale of Fjreda (even though she already had been paid in full). She held all the cards, and wasn’t about to play fair.
So, when Sharon pressed the matter further, getting no relief, she filed a small claims suit in Arizona, hoping that the Pedersens would come to their senses and make good on their deals. Surely they would not want to damage their reputation and that of the NFHR should this all become public. Surely they would not seriously wish to take a horse away from a six-year-old girl. Could Lisa Pedersen really be so cruel, even after telling the girl in person over the phone that the horse was hers forever?
Oh, but she could. And the trip to court in Arizona didn’t bother Lisa – because she didn’t bother to go. Her lapdog Jeff went in her stead, was told by the Judge in Arizona that, yes, the e-mails were pretty clear and that they should make good on the deal for Dolly, but that small claims was not empowered to force such an arrangement. Jeff petulantly stomped from the courtroom before the judge was finished talking, but not without having first serving Sharon with a lawsuit in Utah’s 5th District Court.
The Court in Utah was a much friendlier environment for the Pedersens. One would suspect the judge had his mind made up well before the trial even took place, given the fact that he napped through much of the testimony (video of the proceedings can verify this). Despite being caught lying and testifying to the abuse of his station on the stand, the judge ordered the foal and Dolly returned to the Pedersens. Ultimately, the falsified paperwork from the NFHR and the lack of written bills of sale were enough to compel the poor, tired judge to find in favor of his constituents.
The court ordered the horses to be picked up within 30 days, but naturally, the Pedersens stalled in providing the order for the judge to sign and managed to weasel another full two months of free board from Sharon. They had the animals picked up by veterinarians for boarding so that they could be Coggins tested prior to Jeff fetching them back to Utah for Lisa, and it is obvious from photographs Lisa has since shared on her Facebook page that the vets nor the Pedersens took any care with regards to Dolly’s diet – witnesses who have been to Sharon’s ranch on the very day the horses left can testify to the fact that those animals were well-cared for, even a bit fat, prior to leaving, as are all of Sharon’s animals. Lisa of course, knowing full well that the truth of her despicable nature is about to be laid bare, has again attempted to manipulate the situation, going so far as to abuse an animal in order to lay the blame at another and distract attention from the truth.
But the truth is known. It is here, it is not going away, and it is already thoroughly indexed on most of the Internet’s major search engines. Anyone looking for the facts about Jeff and Lisa Pedersen online will easily find them here. They cannot hide. They cannot keep their friends and associates in the dark any longer.
“I want Scarlett to have Dolly. It is a done deal.” – Lisa Pedersen, March 25, 2011, via e-mail
You’d think a statement in writing like that would be pretty clear-cut. Someone wants a quiet mare, rescued from a feedlot and with a history of medical issues, to have a good, “forever” home. A six-year old girl loves the horse and her parents are willing to provide that home.
But for the sake of nothing more than spite, such a deal can be undone. With the help of a friendly judge (who enjoys long naps during trial testimony), people like Lisa and Jeff Pedersen (President of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry – http://nfhr.com/ ) have no qualms about taking the horse back, for no reason other than petty vindictiveness. Three years later, a little girl sits weeping as her dear pony is hauled away by the very same people who promised her over the phone that it would be hers forever.
Know well what you are dealing with when you deal with Lisa and Jeff Pedersen and the NFHR.

I saw so much on that blog that is nothing but drivel, but also very sketchy if not illegal (imitating a business, libel, etc). I would have definitely discussed that blog post with your lawyer before putting it up, it's pretty damn incriminating.

Sorry it took me a few days to post pics here guys. Its been crazy this week.
This is 3 yr old PF Fjreya ( today is her birthday ) during her vet exam yesterday. She is weak and wobbly and needed help holding her head up.
My vet did a very extensive exam and has made some dx. but we will wait on bloodwork to come back detailing how extensive the neglect has been to her organs, ect. and for how long she has been starved.
That is a weanling halter. She weighs aprox 400 lbs and should be close to 1,000 lbs. Her muscles are wasted away and she is nothing but literally, skin over bone.
Her head appears huge because her little body and bloated belly is so off. She has a large parasite load. She has a belly FULL of sand, rocks. The vet in AZ said she had never heard so much sand in a belly, and
gave us a guarded prognosis. My vet is worried about the sand also. but seems more worried about long term organ damage and the potential of damage from the parasite load. She will never be " normal " She is stunted.

Just for contrast, this is PF Violet, who is 3 months younger than Fjreya, taken yesterday. Not to toot my own horn, but this is what a turning 3 yr old should look like.
Fjreya is a Leidjo daughter. Violet is out of a Leidjo daughter, very close relatives.

One more of Violet yesterday.

DOLLY waiting patiently for her little buddy to get her hoofs trimmed. Fjreya stood quietly and has zero fuss getting blood drawn, fecal samples done, mane and tail hairs pulled for a T-4 test.
She had a hard time balancing on 3 legs getting trimmed but I had a group of friends helping hold her up.

Fjreya's hoofs were long and upright. She has contracted tendons and both my vet and farrier agreed that they are because of having zero muscle to use, so walking improperly.
Dragging her back end around basically. She was walking on her soles and hoof walls were not available. After her trim she seems more comfortable.
