It can be the small gland located on the spermatic cord or a person who gelds their own crypt and doesn't bother with the other testicles since it cannot be seen. When working around Houston as a teenager, I was shocked at the number of people who felt that hiring a vet to geld was a waste of money so they did it themselves. Lots of crypts who kept that internal testicle.
That's a good point! I forgot about the crypts! Since he showed me how he said I could then do it myself but guess what , I'm not ever going to haha. Also correct me if I'm wrong but isn't gelding a cryptorchid, major surgery?

I guess it helps when they geld them standing up because everything drops down and it makes it easier to get it all. I have seen a gelding and it seems like it would be pretty easy to not leave anything behind. My "proud cut" gelding was gelded standing up at age 2. Never bred before gelding. However, he is very studdy and very aggressive with other horses. I actually wish it was as simple as having him gelded. It would make my life a little easier....... I believe that my horse has been fully gelded but that he has social issues.
Standing up? Do some vets do that? I've never known a vet who didn't knock 'em out for the procedure. As for the original question. I've known people who have sworn that they knew "proud cut" geldings. And I suppose it could be possible (like if it were a awfully terrible vet, who was also drunk and stoned). But I would think that it would be highly unlikely. Unless it were done intentionally, as lookatmesmile suggested, I guess (btw, WTF?! People really do that?!)
